11 THINGS TO DO IN A WEEKEND IN ROME

Hey babes!

Hey babes! Today I have for you a travel post about Rome. It's been a long time since I wrote one, so that's why I've decided to do that about the last city I have visited. I've already been 3 times in Rome (and would go back 3 more) and I love it. It's a city with a lot of history, and it's perfect to get lost in it. So today I wanted to share 11 things you can do there. Even though they might seem a lot I guarantee that you can do all of them in a weekend if you plan ahead 😉. I hope you like it!

1. Visiting the Colosseum. This is something you have to do when you visit Rome. Getting inside allows you to imagine how was it in the roman time and all the performances that took place there. You really can not miss this.

2. Go for a stroll around the Forum. After visiting the Colosseum you have to go to the roman Forum. You can buy tickets together to visit both of them. I loved going through the old ruins and seeing what's left of the buildings they used to be.

3. Throw a coin in Fontana di Trevi. Legend says that if you throw a coin there with your left hand over your right shoulder you will go back to Rome, so you have to do it! The Fontana is beautiful and huge, but it's always packed up with people. The best time to go it's at night, there will be less people and the Fontana is as beautiful as during daytime.

4. Visit the Vatican city and climb to the top of the dome. Vatican city is another stop you can't miss. Walking the Piazza San Pietro while you look at the huge Vatican building is insane. I highly recommend you go up to the dome to see Rome from above. There are a lot of stairs to climb, but I think it's worth it 😉

5. Visit Piazza Spagna and climb up the stairs. when I went there it was packed up with people but I liked it anyways. Climbing up the stairs it's also worth it. And the Piazza is just beside Via dei Condotti, the street with all the luxury brands (even if you're not buying anything it's always fun to have a look 😉).

6. Go to the Altare della Patria (or Monument Vittorio Emanuele II) and see its rooftop. This was one of the monuments that impact me the most the first time I saw it. It's in a square with a lot of traffic but it still looks amazing. I will also recommend to go up to its rooftop (there aren't any stairs, you have to take the elevator) because the views are so worth it. I loved it.

7. Having a look at the Agrippa Pantheon. The first time I went to Rome I couldn't get inside it and it was a pity. I really wanted to go back to see the inside and it didn't let me down at all when I saw it. It's incredible to see all the details there are, but most of all the amazing eye in the dome. It's a must visit.

8. Take a walk around Piazza Navona and buy a painting in a stand. I think Piazza Navona it's the perfect place to have a walk and admire all the art that fills Rome. We can find three fountains (one of them was made by Bernini) and the Sant'Agnese in Agone church. In addition, we can find a lot of little stands around the piazza where they sell all kind of cute paintings and pictures. I bought one and it's perfect to decorate your home. So if you go there I will highly recommend to buy there a souvenir.

9. Buy an icecream in Gelateria della Palma (with more than 150 flavors!!). This ice cream shop was a true discovery. Some of my friends took me there and I couldn't like it more 😍 I've never seen an ice cream shop with so many flavors! It was almost impossible to decide hahaha. And all the flavors I tried were so good. This ice cream shop is one Via della Maddalena 19/23. It's really close to Piazza Navona (less than 5min walking), so if you go to the piazza don't forget to buy an icecream here.

10. Watch the sunset from the bridge Umberto I. From the bridge you have an excellent view of the Vatican dome. It's perfect to watch the sunset and to take some pictures 😍

11. Go for a night stroll in Trastevere and have dinner there. Trastevere is one of the most bohemian neighbourhood in the city and one of the areas with best restaurants. Have a night walk around its little streets and visiting the Santa Maria in Trastevere church is something you can't miss.

I hope you liked the post and find it useful if you ever go to Rome!

See you soon babes!

  2. We visited Rome a few years ago and it was so busy and so so hot that it kind of ruined our experience there, but I'd love to go back one day and see it properly. I loved wandering through the Roman Forum though, but sadly the Trevi Fountain was being restored so it was all boarded up!
